Classes at Volgograd Bible College
Frank and Katya teamed up to teach at the Volgograd Bible College this past month. The classes meet in a building that is being renovated so the room was cold but the students persevered with a desire to learn. The class is small but who knows what God will do in these lives. There is such a need in Russia for sound teaching. Pray that the need will be met by God's grace. |
Christmas Alpha
Koinonia started two new Alpha Courses in November, one in English and another in Chinese. The students do the entire event...the inviting, cooking, serving, hosting, and funding. For a special time in December we brought both groups together to explain Christmas to them. It was a great time with testimonies, singing (in both languages) and a message from the Word. No one wanted to leave. The following week we had a two day "Alpha weekend". So far two men from Malaysia and two ladies from China have entered the Kingdom by God's grace. More Pictures |
Reaching Out in Song
Koinonia took the Gospel in song to the students in the dorms
on January 7 (Orthodox Christmas). They trooped to 5 different dorms and sang over 6 carols on 17 different floors. They handed out gifts of candy attached to a song sheet in English and Russian with some verses of one of the carols.
Additionally some of the church sang Christmas Carols at the Medical University's New Year celebration (pictured).

Koinonia Christmas Celebration
40 of us gathered at a student flat and crammed into a room together for a great time of close fellowship (in every sense of the word). Lots of food, a fun gift exchange, joyful singing....a great time. All the culture and language groups mingled and interacted wonderfully. This is a picture of early in the evening before everyone arrived. A Muslim was impressed with the love and joy that permeated the time. More Pictures |
Spread the Word about Straight Ahead Ministries
It would be a great help if you took just a minute to click the forward email link Forward email and send an encouraging note to some friends that they might join our team. Your message to them is personal and unless they contact us on their own we will have no record. So give us a hand in getting the word out.....Thanks

Latest on Frank and Lora's Visa Situation
The only avenue available to us to continue the schedule of ministry as we have over the years is to apply for a temporary residency permit (green card). We have been told to wait until the end of February or early March before we apply since there is a limited quota available. We are on a list. So we will see. The application process is rather lengthy involving lots of paperwork. We are trusting our sovereign God and will be satisfied with His path. Please pray for this situation.....we would really like to continue as we have. |
